I need some information on a rear blade for a 26 hp tractor to do working my drive way, plow snow and work on a yard at a new home site. Does anyone have any information that would help.

Hi KC,Just a note from my own experience. A six foot rear mount adjustable blade works ok, but can be improved greatly with a minor modification. On my own blade, I welded adjustable gauge wheels (10") on each end, just behind the end of each blade tip. By adjusting the angle of the lift arms and the height of the gauge wheels, I could drop the lift arms down so the blade would "float" over the ground, and pull perfectly flat and level. The tractor tires going over rocks, bumps or into holes didn't make a mess of the material I was smoothing out, be it gravel, dirt or whatever. It worked for me. ....

I've seen rounded flat rounded shoes used on blades years ago for the same purpose, but haven't seen anything in recent years (haven't looked too hard either). I am curious. If you don't my sharing with us, how much did the wheel assemblies cost you and where did you get them from? I've seen similar setups as extras for landscaping rakes for about $100. I always have felt $100 was a bit much, but since I haven't seen anything else I am gradually coming to terms with the price. Thanks in advance,Lee ....
